We will depart from your hotel in Arusha early in the morning after breakfast and head to Serengeti National Park. Our route will take us near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering opportunities for animal sightings along the way.
The golden savannah and endless plains, filled with zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes, clearly illustrate why the Serengeti is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. We will enjoy a picnic lunch at Naabi kopje, a small rocky hill in the otherwise flat terrain, where you can observe the Serengeti’s famous pink-headed lizards.
After lunch, we will continue deeper into the plains for a leisurely game drive. You will spend the night in the Serengeti.
We will start our day with an early morning game drive in the central Serengeti. As the sun rises, the savannah comes alive with birdsong, and the landscape is bathed in golden light. Your guide will track animal prints in search of predators and massive numbers of grazing animals.
Later, we will journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, we will head to Ngorongoro Crater, as the early hours are prime for animal spotting. We will embark on a game drive around the crater, pausing for a picnic lunch by a small lake within the park. This lake is a haven for hippos and migratory birds, ensuring a delightful visit. The crater's "oasis" environment offers a high chance of encountering all members of the 'Big 5': the powerful lion, massive elephant, elusive leopard, charging rhino, and formidable water buffalo.
Ngorongoro Crater, formed over two million years ago from the collapse of a massive volcanic eruption, remains an unbroken caldera. Inside this extraordinary landscape, you will see playful zebras, lumbering hippos, swift wildebeests, and cackling hyenas. Graceful flamingos gather along the Soda Lake, while hawks and vultures circle above, searching for their next meal. The crater is also home to beautiful storks, ibis, and cranes, making it a bird-watcher's paradise.
After an afternoon filled with incredible wildlife sightings, we will begin our journey back to Arusha.
