Start-off the early morning drive on Jinja road highway which will lead us to our first stop being at the Historical Sezibwa water falls which are approximately 32 kilometres east of Kampala city in Mukono District.
The falls are about seven meters high and with the sweet hissing sound created by the falling water which forms a beautiful scenery. This is complemented by the natural vegetation cover and the undulating and steep rocks over which the waters fall.
The site has several bird species which present a wonderful opportunity for birding activities. The site also presents several tourist activities such as bird watching, camping, rock climbing, nature walks, hiking and canoeing.
We check out and continue to the Mabira forest for 2 hours where we have a forest walk .The Mabira forest is a rainforest area covering about 300 square kilometres (120 square miles) situated in Buikwe District between Lugazi and Jinja.
Mabira forest is a habitat to over 300 bird species and many Ugandan primates. The forest is great, it is still natural and the nature walk is just amazing. You will walk for over an hour under tree canopies without spotting the sky. There are very many primates that you will see on the way, beautiful forest birds and great temperatures.
We continue to Jinja town and have lunch at the Sunset Hotel or any other place or hotel you may wish. Then prepare for the afternoon drive to the Ripon Falls which was formerly called the source of the Nile, and continue to the real source of the Nile and see where the Nile originates from.
If you are a bird lover, this is a must place for you. Return later at 4:30 pm and drive through the Jinja one Main Street and get back to Kampala.
Not forgetting that you may decide to relax by the source of the Nile with some drinks and ask your guide to pick you up later-on. The guides are all professional, they will point out at all the bird species that they come across and the many lizards along the River Nile source.
When you get to the point where the Nile river dramatically separates from Lake Victoria, the stream of water will start running towards the North forming the Victoria Nile co-joining with the Albert Nile in the Murchison falls National Park to the Southern Sudan to meet the Blue and White Nile and continue through Egypt to the Mediterranean sea.
